The SnorePlug is a next-generation foam earplug
sourced from Taiwan. Its key features are:
What does this noise reduction figure mean?SNR is the European standard, calculated in accordance with ISO 4869 2.2 (1992). In the United States, hearing protection devices are required to have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR), which is very much like the SNR in terms of its calculation method but takes into account different frequencies and standard deviations. The SnorePlug does not yet have an NRR, and we are therefore not marketing this product as an industrial safety device. However, we can tell you that an SNR 37db is very impressive. Here is the attenuation data, as reported by Inspec, an independent European testing laboratory.

Start by squeezing the snoreplug in a rolling motion until the snoreplug is as tight as possible.
Reach over your head and use your thumb and forefinger to lightly pinch the top of the opposite ear, gently pulling it up and back. This straightens the ear canal and allows for easier insertion.
Insert the tip of the snoreplug at a slightly upward angle, gently pushing it in before the snoreplug has time to expand.
Hold the snoreplug in place for about 45 seconds. The snoreplug will slowly expand, contorting to your ear canal shape for a perfect fit. This enables the snoreplug to better block sound.
Repeat for the other ear.
To remove, pinch the outside of the snoreplug and slowly pull it out. If you have short fingernails or big fingers, tweezers can be used very carefully to help you remove them. Do not push the snoreplug further into your ear, as it could damage your eardrum.
Wipe them clean before reuse. |
Important: Remove snoreplugs slowly, as removing them too quickly can cause your eardrum to pop.
Here are some competitive products with their NRR and SNR.
